In his debut game he scored 27 points with five three pointers against John Muir High School. In March 2016, Chino Hills won the California Interscholastic Federation against Sierra Canyon School where he scored 26 points. LaMelo is 6’3″ tall and is often considered as next Stephen Curry for his ability to score long three pointers. In July 2017, LaMelo participated with his AAU team, Big Ballers Brand at Adidas Summer Championship at Cashman Center.
